Privacy Policy
At Thumbify (thumbify.tech), we respect your fundamental right to privacy. We do not require accounts, we do not log your downloaded videos, we do not sell your data, and we do not use intrusive third-party ad tracking cookies. Your session is private and transient.
1. Overview & Privacy Commitment
This Privacy Policy explains how Thumbify ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you visit or interact with our website located at thumbify.tech (the "Service").
Our core architecture is intentionally designed with data minimization. By default, we avoid collecting, storing, or processing any personal information that is not strictly required to execute client-side media resolution requests.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
To be completely clear about what we do not track:
- No Personal Identifiers: We do not ask for or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or mailing addresses.
- No User Accounts or Passwords: There is no registration system, login form, or account database.
- No Payment or Financial Details: Thumbify is 100% free; we never request credit cards, banking info, or crypto wallets.
- No Download History Profiling: We do not associate parsed YouTube URLs with individual IP addresses or browsing profiles.
3. Ephemeral URL Handling & Real-Time Processing
When you enter a YouTube video URL into our search bar, our client-side software extracts the public 11-character video ID (such as dQw4w9WgXcQ) locally within your web browser.
This extraction is ephemeral:
- The submitted URL is never saved permanently in an indexing database.
- The URL is not shared with data brokers, advertisers, or analytics trackers.
- Once you close or refresh your browser tab, your input state is erased.
4. Third-Party Interactions & Google/YouTube CDN
When retrieving YouTube video thumbnails, our site directs your web browser to request image files directly from Google’s publicly accessible image distribution network (img.youtube.com).
Because this request occurs directly between your browser and Google servers, Google may log standard HTTP request metadata in accordance with their own privacy practices. We encourage you to review the Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We do not use tracking cookies, retargeting pixels, or behavioral ad scripts.
Our website may occasionally utilize the browser's standard localStorage or session memory solely for functional, client-side UI convenience (such as caching your preferred video format filter during a single browsing session). No cross-site or persistent user tracking is conducted.
6. Aggregated Server Diagnostics
Like all web servers connected to the global internet, our edge CDN provider (such as Cloudflare or Vercel) automatically records routine diagnostic logs containing server response codes, browser user-agent strings, and rough geographic region (country level).
These logs are utilized strictly for preventing distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, resolving 500/404 server errors, and maintaining high platform reliability. They are routinely purged on an automated schedule.
7. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Thumbify does not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under the age of 13 in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Because our website does not collect any personal data whatsoever, no child data is ever stored or processed.
8. Data Security Measures
All communications between your device and Thumbify are encrypted in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS). This prevents third parties, ISPs, or malicious network operators from intercepting or eavesdropping on your activity while using the tool.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect technical upgrades, changes in legal obligations, or new tool capabilities. Any modifications will be posted directly to this page with an updated "Last Updated" timestamp. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
